Safety, by design Edition 01

Safeby design.Not by disclaimer.

House rules

Five rules. No loopholes.

Short enough to remember. Strict enough to mean it. These are the lines — breaking them gets a warning, a removal, or a ban, in that order.

  1. Lead with care.

Disagree without dehumanising. Say the thing — say it kindly. Tone is part of the rule, not a footnote.

  2. No fatphobia, no diet talk.

Not in posts, comments, or DMs. Unsolicited nutrition advice, 'concern trolling,' and weight-loss pitches all count.

  3. Consent always.

No unsolicited DMs. No tagging someone else's body. No reposting a photo without a clear yes from the person in it.

  4. Credit creators.

If you didn't make it, say who did. If they didn't say you could repost, you can't. Citations are love.

  5. Report, don't retaliate.

Tell us. We'll take it from there — and we'll write back to tell you exactly what we did and why.

Not on our watch

Zero tolerance, out loud.

These aren't edge cases we debate. They're removed on sight, with no second warning and no appeals for first offences.

  • Fatphobia in any flavour — 'jokes' included.
  • Before-and-after weight-loss content.
  • Diet industry ads, affiliates, or referrals.
  • Unsolicited nutrition or 'wellness' advice.
  • Body-shaming dressed up as 'concern.'
  • Doxxing, harassment, hate speech, or threats.
When you report

One tap. A human. A written answer.

Every post, comment, profile and DM has a report button. Here's exactly what happens next — so you know what to expect before you tap.

  1. You tap report.

One tap from the post, comment, profile or DM. No forms, no screenshots required. Add a note if it helps.

  2. A human reads it.

Not a bot. A paid moderator on our team — usually within two hours, always inside a working day.

  3. We write back.

Within 24 hours: what we did, why we did it, and whether the report is closed. You hear from us, not a template.

Threats of harm escalate to senior staff within 15 minutes, 24/7. You never have to wait in a queue when safety is on the line.

Your moderators

Paid. Trained. Plus-size.

Not volunteers. Not bots. Not somebody else's contractors. The people keeping this room warm are on our payroll.

  • Paid fairly.

Hourly wage plus benefits. Moderation is a job we budget for, not a favour we ask.

  • Trained on HAES.

Health At Every Size, trauma-informed care, and de-escalation — because the community deserves more than 'common sense.'

  • From the community.

Every moderator is plus-size. They've lived it. They moderate from the inside, not above it.

You're safe here

Soft room. Loud spine.

We promise a warm place — and we spend real money keeping it that way. If anything here ever feels off, tell us. We'll answer you, personally.
